Boys Fall to Trojans 2-0

The Boys Varsity couldn't find the key to the Daphne goal in Friday's match at WC Major Field. Playing without both senior captains and with other starters slowed with the flu, the Pirates could not seem to generate the smooth offensive punch of previous games. Daphne scored in the first half on crossing pass that appeared to be snatched out of the air by GK Steven Pearson, but was bumped out of his hands and into the goal. In the second half, the Trojans were credited with a goal on a long shot that actually entered the goal through the top of the net. Officials apparently were not in position to note the trajectory of the ball clearing the crossbar and dipping into the topside of the net. Pictures here.
