DAPHNE -- Ryan Strachan buried a penalty kick into the left corner of the net in the second sudden-death overtime period to lift #6-ranked Fairhope to a 1-0 soccer win at #10-ranked Daphne Friday night. "It was a great victory," Fairhope coach Eddie Strachan said. "I would have liked to have come out with a two-goal win so we could have won the section, but Daphne is a tough team. It was obviously two very evenly matched teams. We fought hard. We went 86 minutes and hung in there." More game summary here.

Wansley's 19 Secs Does It! Puts FHS on Top

Big Come-From-Behind Win

DAPHNE -- Bethany Wansley scored back-to-back goals within 19 seconds of each other late in the first half and the ninth-ranked Fairhope girls held on for a come-from-behind win in the section championship game against 10th-ranked Daphne. "They've just got character," Fairhope coach Tim Alford said. "They are not going to let themselves be defeated by a one- or two-goal deficit.
