Pirate BV over Montgomery Academy 4-2

The Fairhope Pirates Boys Varsity ended their Spring Break with a well-played win over Montgomery Academy Friday night at W.C. Majors Field. Led by junior forward Ryan Strachan's hat trick (the boy must have a closet full of hats by now), and Brian Keyser's first half goal, the Pirates held a 3-0 lead at the half. While missing several starters to injuries and spring break trips, inspired play by senior defenders Brett Hegler and Jason Canarela kept MA out of the Pirate defensive third most of the game. Junior Colin McBrearty and sophomore Drew Dolan moved to new positions for this game and played very well. McBrearty had a nice save on a corner and Dolan could be seen flying through the air heading the ball out of trouble. JV call-ups Tim Canarela and Stanton Lee stepped up their games and showed they could play with the big boys.
