Fairhope, AL - Led by Senior Striker
Jordan Sinclair's two goals the #8 ranked 6A Fairhope Pirates beat Baldwin County
High School for the second time this season in the annual Senior
Night game. Seniors Ben Kuyk, Colin McBrearty, Sinclair, Ryan
Strachan and Matt Tabor were recognized in the pregame ceremony.
Strachan and Tabor will play college soccer and have been awarded
scholarships.
Sinclair
wasted little time taking the ball to the goal for the first score
in the 4th minute off of a cross from Stanton Lee. Sinclair and Lee
hooked up again in the 12th minute of the second half to make the
score 2-0. In the 14th minute a Frank Sutley shot ricocheted off of
a Tiger rump to make the score 3-0.
Just two minutes later reserve striker
freshman Kyle Sherrin found the back of the net. Credit Drew Barnett
with the assist. And in the 22nd minute a handling call in the
penalty box gave the Pirates a PK. Barnett calmly stepped up and sent
a rocket by the BCHS keeper.
Thirty-one minutes into the second half the
Tigers got on the scoreboard on a goal by Manuel Stevens assisted by
San Linder.
With
just over seven minutes to play sophomore David Allen stepped up,
split two defenders and drilled a shot by the diving keeper for the
last Pirate score of the night.
And then with 1:11 showing on the
countdown clock a foul in the box gave BCHS a PK which Trevor King
converted for a final score of 6-2 Fairhope.
The Pirate boys are home Thursday at 3:00 pm for Foley, then jump on
the bus and head for Satsuma (girls @ 5:30, boys @ 7:30). Whew!
