Daphne, AL - Despite
strong play and good ball movement, Fairhope could not recover from
a 3-0 second half deficit in Tuesday night's game with the Trojan's
of Daphne High School and drop to 11-2-2 on the season, 3-1-0 in
section play.
The Pirates got onto
the scoreboard in the 13th minute of the second half on a Stewart
Garner free kick that bounced over the keeper's head. Ryan Strachan
screened off defenders as the ball rolled into the net.
Strachan got one of
his own with seven minutes left to play to make the score 3-2. The
senior forward is only one goal away from tying the Alabama High
School Career Goals Record of 143.
The Pirates are back
in action in section play when they face the always dangerous Golden
Bears of Robertsdale High School on Friday at 7:30 pm at W.C. Majors
Field at Volanta Park in Fairhope. The Bears currently lead 6A
Section 2 with four wins and one loss.
