What's the Pirate's Log?

It's a place for opinion. Opinions are like noses. Everybody's got one. Some are long and pointy. Some full of hot air. Some are full of other stuff we'd prefer not to talk about in polite company. I'll tell you my opinion, but feel free to submit yours. If its sufficiently long, pointy or even full of hot air, I'll publish it here. If its full of other stuff, I won't. Be sure and include your name. No anonymous log entries.

Log Entry 4/5/6     My reflections on Gatorade, Goals & Teams (by Eddie Strachan)

Nancy and I would like to thank everyone involved for honoring Ryan last Friday night before the Robertsdale game for being named the Gatorade Player of the Year. This was a great occasion for the Strachan family.  The Gatorade Player of the Year award could only by exceeded by the Fairhope Boys Soccer Team winning the State Championship. Ryan tying the Alabama High School Athletic Association record for career goals made Friday night even more special. To top it all, we won the game in Kicks From The Mark, thanks largely to Steven Pearson's intuitiveness in the goal. The win put us in sole possession of first place in our Section.

Although Ryan has scored 143 goals, and hopefully, will break the record this weekend, we are abundantly aware that this has been a total team effort. Starting from the keeper, to the defenders, to the midfielders, to the other forwards, and to Coach Paul Stroud, Ryan could not have achieved this without his teammates and coach.

In closing, thanks to all who have contributed to the success of the Fairhope Boys Soccer Team.

GO PIRATES!
